Mission Statement:
Through a robust collaboration with our educators, parents/guardians, donors, and the community, the Immaculate Conception High School Guidance Department seeks to advocate for the equity, access and success of every student. It does so by providing comprehensive, developmental counseling programs that address the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. This empowers students to reach their full potential academically, spiritually, intellectually, physically, socially, and morally.
Overview:
The primary objective of the Guidance Program is to serve each student in his/her development and to establish their constancy toward Christian living. It also hopes to facilitate the pupil-teacher relationship by making available necessary information about the student. The Guidance personnel collect and analyze student data, identify common problems, and promote solutions to those identified problems. Additionally, Guidance personnel work with new students to provide the best possible adjustments to high school life.
Guidance personnel keep records, process progress reports and report cards, and work with parents and teachers so that records are understood and used appropriately to ensure student progress.
College counseling services include College Workshop classes during junior and senior year, individual college counseling, and mentorship throughout the application process. Both in-school and out-of-school avenues to meet with college representatives are provided.
