Ways to Help
Why an Annual Appeal? To keep ICHS affordable for our families, we rely on outside support. The school does not receive financial support from the Archdiocese or the Parish, so we count on your gifts to help bridge the gap of several thousands of dollars between the actual per pupil cost and the cost of educating each student. Where it Goes Immaculate Conception's Annual Appeal is our primary fundraising effort to support the daily operation of the school. Each gift helps us to fund teacher's salaries, technology upgrades, research materials, equipment and the upkeep of our buildings. We also use annual appeal gifts to help offset tuition costs for needy students. Every Gift Counts Every member of the ICHS family is invited to make a gift to our Annual Appeal. We welcome and appreciate gifts of all sizes and ask that you make a gift at a level that is comfortable for you. Every gift counts since each gift,regardless of size, improves our overall participation rate. You can make a gift to the ICHS Annual Appeal by clicking on the JustGive.org button or select one of the many ways to give options offered. All contributions are tax deductible. Cash/Check Gifts of cash are the most beneficial way of giving to ICHS because they can be used to support a variety of needs right now. Simply mail in a check, payable to Immaculate Conception High School, or feel free to stop by in person. We are located at 18 Cottage Place, the house next door to the school, and always enjoy the chance to catch up with friends! Online Gifts You can make a gift to the ICHS through JustGive.org, an organization committed to helping non profits by offering them online donation tools. We are listed with them as Immaculate Conception High School, Montclair. Credit Card ICHS accepts VISA and MasterCard. Your credit card donation can be made over the phone, simply call the Development Office at 973 744-7445 ext. 31. Like gifts of outright cash, gifts paid on a credit card provide ICHS with immediate funds. Securities A gift of appreciated securities offers the same income tax advantages as cash gifts, but since securities can be transferred to us directly, rather than sold; their value is increased because sales expenses are not incurred. Transferred securities are also sheltered from capital gains liabilities. You should contact your broker or financial advisor to make a transfer, or contact our Development Office at 973 744-7445 ext. 31, and we will help you with the process. Matching Gifts Many companies will help support ICHS through a matching gift, which doubles, or sometimes even triples a contribution. Before making your gift, check with your employer's (and/or your spouse's employer) human resources department to see if a gift matching program is offered. Pledges If you prefer to spread payments out, you can pledge a gift on a payment schedule that is convenient to you. A pledge may allow you to make a larger gift than you might have otherwise, while extending tax advantages over a period of several years. Honor/Memorial Gifts Gifts can be made in memory or in honor of a loved one. Please let us know the name of the person to be honored or memorialized and the Development Office will acknowledge the gift to the person or the family. All honor/memorial gifts are designated for general scholarship aid. Lion Heart Scholarship Lion Heart Sponsors provide scholarship aid yearly for all four years of high school. Recipients of the Lion Heart Scholarship keep sponsors informed of progress during the school year to sponsors see first hand the difference their gift makes in their lives. The minimum gift for the Lion Heart Program is $1,000. Planned Giving Planned gifts often offer significant tax benefits. The 1925 Legacy Society acknowledges ICHS family members that have included the school in their estate plans. The information on this site is not intended as legal or tax advice. For such advice, please consult an attorney or your tax professional. SPECIAL EVENTS This year the Second Annual Pride Gala will be held on June 14, 2013, at The Villa in Mountain Lakes, NJ. The Blue Lion Club and the ICHS Board of Trustees sponsor the Hall of Fame Dinner each fall when alumni and friends are honored for their accomplishments. The Annual Golf Outing also takes place in the fall. Dates have not been finalized. |
